OTTAWA, ON – June 3, 2012 – Neptec Design Group, a leader in spaceflight engineering, is pleased to announce that it will be participating in Canada’s Trade Mission to Russia, June 3-8, 2012, visiting St. Petersburg and Moscow. Celebrating 70 years of diplomatic relations between Canada and Russia, the mission will be led by the Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway, the Honourable Ed Fast, and will focus on the building products and construction, aerospace, and mining sectors.
Neptec attributes its current progress in the Russian market to the high level of support received from Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada (DFAIT), both in Moscow and in Canada. Neptec is quite pleased that DFAIT members have been able to organize meetings with key officials in Russia.
“As part of our global diversification plan, Neptec is actively pursuing opportunities in Russia and this mission, with the presence and support of Minister Fast and the Canadian delegation, will aid in the further development of these opportunities,” said Larisa Beach, VP International Business Development, Neptec. “Russia is a major Space Nation, with space technology being one of the key areas of Russia’s modernization program. With our long history of innovation and reliability, Neptec sees this mission as an opportunity to further establish Neptec’s foothold in the Russian market.”
Neptec has developed a solid reputation for delivering both quality and reliability in the design, manufacturing, installation and support of its sensor systems used by the NASA Shuttle Program initially for Space Station assembly and subsequently for Shuttle tile inspection. More recently the company designed a state-of-the-art sensor to facilitate the rendez-vous and docking to the ISS and acted as system integrator for a Canadian rover developed for the Canadian Space Agency.
Neptec Design Group Ltd (www.neptec.com) designs, builds and implements real-time 3D sensor systems and applications primarily for the aerospace sector. With new solutions for aerospace, defence and industry, Neptec, a CSA/NASA prime contractor, continues to be a pioneer in the innovative use of mission critical systems and applications. In February 2011, Neptec was awarded the George M. Low prize, NASA’s premier honour for quality and performance, marking the first time a non-U.S. company received the award.
